The traditional type of water boiler used in Iran and, in the 18-19th centuries, in Russia. Made of brass and traditionally with a small furnace inside to be filled with wood, the samovar used to be the center of the family dinner. If there ever was a tea ceremony in Imperial Russia, samovar was the center of it. To this day, the Tula factory is restoring antique samovars (starting at around $300) and even making a simplified version of them: electric samovars to be plugged into power (as priced on this page).
